Few Christian camps in the country specialize in ministering to children and young adults with special needs and their siblings. Camp Blessing is such a camp... a haven for kids who feel left out... a camp where all feel total acceptance... and most importantly, where campers experience the love of Christ! To experience the love of Christ in a beautiful camp setting is something every child should enjoy no matter their level of ability! Camp Blessing Texas welcomes persons 7-years and older with a primary diagnosis of a physical or intellectual disability. Camp Blessing Texas also invites all siblings, ages 7-13, of our campers to be a camper themselves. Older siblings (age 14+) have the opportunity to volunteer at camp.

The Camp Experience

Each day is filled with fun activities that have trained leaders and plenty of counselors to keep everyone safe. Campers are encouraged to participate, try new things and to do their best. However the biggest goal is for them to experience love, acceptance and fun. This is also accomplished by having one counselor to one camper as their buddy for the term.

Activities:

Most camper’s feel horseback riding is the highlight of the week. But there are many activities for the campers to enjoy including: Canoeing, Archery, Arts and Crafts, Music Time, Swimming, Ball Sports, Fishing, Water Games, Costume Closet, Ropes Course & Rock Climbing wall.  Each evening has an exciting theme party, like messy games (an all-time favorite), carnival night, dance parties and the variety show. The final evening always includes a special time of prayer together called the Cross Walk. After evening events they have amazing worship, celebrating our God. This is a wonderful time for all to worship as they know how. "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!"
