This upcoming summer, The Church at Cross Lake will be leading a trip to Raton, New Mexico. We will be partnering with the First Baptist Church of Raton as they serve the people of New Mexico. This trip will give you the opportunity to serve others, share the gospel, and challenge us to step out in faith as we grow closer to God.
Informational Meeting
We will have an informational meeting on Sunday March 22nd, immediately following our Sunday Worship Service.

What we will be doing
Daily Small group devotionals—we will study God’s word together and pray at the start of every day
Worship & fellowship—we will have the opportunity to worship alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ in Raton as well as build relationships with this church body.
Serve the local church—One of our main focuses on this trip is to assist the First Baptist Church of Raton in their ongoing ministry in the area. Whether that means work projects at the church, serving people in the community, or sharing the gospel with people in town, we want to do our best to help connect people with this local church body.
Evangelism—Each member of this team will receive training in evangelism prior to the trip and will have opportunity to practice sharing the gospel while in there.
Run to Raton—Our visit to Raton will coincide with the Run to Raton Motorcycle Rally. That means that there will be hundreds of people coming to town that we will have the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with. The festival atmosphere also opens a lot of doors for us to connect with people and share the gospel.
Sightseeing—There are some beautiful places both along our route and in Raton and we will have the opportunity to enjoy some of God’s creation along the way.
Trip Dates
The trip dates are scheduled for July 13th-July 20th.
Pre-Trip Meetings:
All participants in this trip will be required to take part in the pre-trip Meetings. These meetings will be a time for us to prepare spiritually before we head to Raton. In these meetings we will have a time of Bible study, we will learn and practice methods of sharing the gospel, we will practice sharing our personal testimony, and so much more. There will be an interest meeting Sunday, March 22nd, and our first official team meeting will be April 5th. There will then be a total of 9 meetings over the next three months.*
*(The day of the week for our team meetings is not set. They are currently planned for Sunday afternoons and Wednesday nights, however, we will determine what meeting time works best at our first team meeting on April 5th)
Trip Cost
The cost for the trip will be $850. This will include travel, food, housing and all other expenses.
